This painting was inspired by this week’s Illustration Friday challenge: “Explore” and Christmas, of course! When contemplating what to paint for this challenge, I had so many ideas – safari, space, etc.  I found myself exploring a lot though this painting.  I started sketching and let the pen guide me, leading to lots of lines and unplanned patterns.  My favorite part of this piece is the sky.  I love the stars and blues and blacks.  …This was fun and spontaneous piece.
