I’ve made a commitment to Leslie Saeta’s 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge and already have a few paintings under my belt to start out on the right foot. This is the second year I’ve make the commitment. Here’s the first painting of the challenge. I found the inspiration on Sktchy, a new app for artists that allows you to use photos from other artists for inspiration. I am in LOVE with the app! Check it out if you have time.

Commission
I was asked to paint these sweet pups as a two-part holiday present this year. Above you’ll find a close up of the dogs on the boat painted below. The client asked me to add in a sunset last minute, which added a pop of color and excitement to the piece. It’s always an honor to be asked to paint commissions, especially when I have the opportunity to bring a unique idea in a client’s mind to life.

Commission
One of my buddies at Full Sail recently lost his long-time companion, Bruiser. When I was asked to paint Bruiser, it was a huge honor because I know how hard it is on an owner when they lose a pet. Not to mention, Bruiser was adorable. Check out that sweet face. I thoroughly enjoyed painting his cute puppy eyes and nose in a limited palette.

Commission
Check out these cuties! Their owner asked me to paint a commission piece to memorialize them. She shared their story….Mushu and Coco were best buds and lived a full life. When the owners moved, they had to have friends take care of them in separate homes because their temporary home (an apartment they were

I reworked my sketch from a couple weeks ago and created a finished version of the Full Sail Studios and Full Sail Live building. When I posted this on Instagram and Facebook, the school decided to pick it up and repost it on their social media sites. It was a huge honor and I’m so thankful I get to work for and continuously be inspired by the students.

Commission
I was asked to paint this piece as a commission for a work friend. He plans to give it to his wife for her birthday. They both love original art and big trees and he wanted to give her something special. It’s always fun to bring someone’s idea to life. He was really happy with the final piece, which makes me really happy. This piece seemed effortless and was a lot of fun to paint.

It’s no secret I love working at Full Sail University. It’s a magical place and one of the leading schools for entertainment media. I started working at Full Sail 8 years ago as an Associate Course Director for a class called Business Storytelling and Brand Development. Over the past 8 years, I’ve had the chance to work on a number of projects and teach a variety of classes. The students and faculty are some of the most inspiring and creative people I’ve ever met. I now work as a Program Manager for the Entertainment Business Master of Science program and, while I love painting, I can’t imagine my life without teaching as well. Both professions fulfill and uplift me.
I did this quick sketch of one of my favorite spots on campus, the entrance to Full Sail Live. You can learn more about my school at www.fullsail.edu.
