I had so much fun painting this painting! It was the the first time I’ve painted a picture of this size. My sister-in-law asked me to paint this painting from several photos. She shared separate photos of the dock when the tide was high and low, some water, and a grey heron. I came up with this – it was fun.
I had no idea how difficult it was going to be to paint a larger painting. The largest painting I’ve done prior to this was an 11×14. I also had the opportunity to try out some new colors. Daniel Smith’s Moonglow and Shadow Violet: two new colors that I’ll be using a lot more of in the future.
Happy Friday!
