I was monkeying around a little tonight with this one.  (Pun intended. Tee hee.)  Last week my family and I went on a trip to St. Simons Island, Georgia.  While we were there, we visited Savannah for a day.  Savannah is such a beautiful city!  I remember visiting Savannah as a child and dreaming of going to SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design.)  I never had that opportunity but I am still amazed by the influence the school has had on the area.  They’ve restored countless buildings to preserve the city’s history.  While we were there, I couldn’t help but pick up some watercolor pencils – and I had the opportunity try them out tonight. 

Here’s what the the painting looked like when I started. 

I used Caran D’Ache Supracolor Soft pencils.  I had a lot of fun working with them but they are very different from traditional watercolor painting.  You should all try using them too!  I’d love to hear about your experience.
