This is my third painting for the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.  I love blue herons.  I grew up in South Florida where there are many.  They are very majestic and graceful birds.  They remind me of home.  

I’ve been learning a lot about the use of patterns in this series.  I’m learning a little more with each painting.  I think my favorite thing about this piece are the triangles on the left side of the painting.  I’d like to do more with them.   I also incorporated some gold leaf into this piece.  It’s hard to see in the photo but it’s the two lines that intersect at the base of the bird.
