So this is the first self-portrait that I’ve done that I’m pretty pleased with.  There are some issues with it.  The right side of my face is looking pretty old…which wasn’t intended but I kind of like it.  What I love most about this piece is you can really see my growth since Carol’s workshop.  Take a look at the painting that I did of the same photo on the left (below.)  I did it a day before I left for the workshop and granted, it was much looser and a faster attempt but there is no question that I’ve grown since learning the new techniques that Carol taught me.  I can’t wait to do the next….
